BestPoker’s Best Event May 5th, 2007 – Tournament of Champions 2!
On May 5th, 2007 BestPoker.com invited their exclusive Platinum members and some of BestPoker’s most distinguished players to Stockholm, Sweden. The event started at The Lobby – private cigar lunge and gentleman’s club owned by famed magician Joe Labero. The festivities began at around 3 PM as players and guests started to arrive. Everyone was greeted by the beautiful Moore models and with complimentary drinks.
Many of the players mingled around and began introducing themselves to the other players as everyone started putting a face to a nickname. Many players who were familiar with each other at the poker tables finally got to put a name on a face. As you can imagine, there were many “Oh! So you are ____!!!!” “Wait! Your’e the fish that sucked me out on a 2 outer on the river for 3K!!!” J After the player had all arrived, BestPoker and The Lobby manager Richard briefed the players on the night ahead. After the introduction the players were invited into a private room and were given a professional introduction to the world of cigar smoking. From cutting the cigar, to lighting it to smoking it – the players were given a crash-course in cigars.
At 4 PM the 2nd annual Tournament of Champions began as the dealers shuffled up and dealt. There were two separate rooms at first, dividing the action into two sections. There was a classic lounge type room and a Wild Wild West style room with old school tables which gave it a Texas 1789 feel to it. The action was fierce as 33 of BestPoker’s best players battled it out for a prize pool of $17,000! The first break took place at around 7 PM as the players were treated to a classic buffet.
The break lasted about 45 minutes. The remaining players sat down and begun playing. There had initially been a bounty of $1,000 on Markoolio’s head. Much to everyone’s surprise Markoolio was one of the remaining players after the first break. When the final table was finally determined Markoolio was there – as chip leader! The action was heavy as the 10 man table withered down to just two! Player Gustaf “Guggovic” Jonasson and Markoolio decided to chop the pot. Each walked away with a cool $6100! We congratulate bothe Markoolio (The fish) and Guggovic for their valiant efforts!
After the winners were crowned, the players and the guests got ready to head over to famous Café Opera in Stockholm for a BestPoker VIP party. All in all about 50 BestPoker guests participated in the party. We had 3 VIP tables set up near the dance floor as the party got on the way. The night was a memorable one as all of BestPoker’s guests partied the night away in what will be remembered as one of the best events BestPoker has thrown to date.
We want to thank each and every player and guest that participated and look forward to our next event this Summer. Our goals have always been to focus on VIP treatment and will continue to reward player loyalty in the future. We hope to see everyone there at the next event!
BestPoker hosts a Tournament/Party for its poker players!
The poker players from BestPoker.com were invited to a private tournament and exclusive VIP party in Stockholm, Sweden. The party started with a special treat: Bourbon tasting by one of the leading experts in the field.
Tournament Of Champions!
The tournament go underway at around 6 pm. Players took their seats and the action lasted till about 11 pm, with one of BestPoker's most talented players zenzenzen taking home a first prize of around 6,000 €.
Party at the famous Cafe Opera!
After the tournament, the players headed over to Cafe Opera to party the night away. The night took an unexpected turn as Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined BestPoker. The unforgetful night was a great one, and BestPoker looks forward to hosting more great events in the near future.
